I feel like the accuracy of recent ChatGPT-based translations has become so high that they might have even surpassed what people proficient in English can do. I wonder what native bilingual speakers think about this.
However, even if the translation itself is excellent, it's quite challenging when using it because if you don't specify details like "casual tone, target audience is young people, minimal polite language," it won't turn out as intended.
I imagine having to input those instructions every time can be a subtle but often troublesome chore 💭
Especially for those who want to translate daily.
So, I thought it would be convenient to have an AI that specializes in languages commonly used in Japan, such as:
- English
- Korean
- Simplified Chinese
- Traditional Chinese
- Thai
- Vietnamese
and allows users to select the tone and purpose with radio buttons.
The idea is that you could select options like:
- Casual
- Formal
with a single click, and then just copy and paste the Japanese text to get the translated result.
If we could eliminate the hassle of describing the context in text every time, preparing emails or social media posts would become much easier! 😀
