What is LitHub?

公開日: 更新日:

When searching for "RitHub" in Japanese,

"My clients and engineers mentioned RitHub, what is it?"

This is probably a common situation.

Perhaps "RitHub" is how GitHub sounded when heard.

It sounds similar, doesn't it? I understand!☺️

What is GitHub?

GitHub is

a cloud-based drive where you can easily store program source code.

Think of it like that.

It's a dedicated version for source code, similar to file transfer services, Google Drive, or Dropbox.

Why GitHub?

There are many other drives (also called online storage), so why do engineers use GitHub?

Actually, GitHub doesn't just allow uploading and downloading;

  • You can add comments
  • View change history
  • Store different versions
  • Others can modify the source code
  • You can directly call source code from your programming environment without manually downloading and setting it up

and so on, because it has many convenient features for engineers.

When you put Excel files on your desktop, you might end up with a mess of files like:

  • Latest
  • Latest (1)
  • Final version
  • Modified

and not know which is which, right? 😂

Just between us, even we professional developers do this often 🤣

And terrifyingly, the programs engineers deal with have hundreds, sometimes thousands, of files that could potentially end up like that every time.

Furthermore, it's even more crucial than with regular files to check the differences between the previous and current versions.

Given this, it became essential to have automatic saving and version management, leading to its widespread adoption.

As a result, it has firmly established itself as a de facto standard, a tool almost everyone uses, which is why it often comes up in meetings.

Of course, it also appears frequently in AI-related contexts.

Even in AI-related development, if it's implemented using programming, GitHub will almost certainly come up.

Please try to remember it on this occasion! 😀

We offer system-related explanations for non-engineers.

Our company excels at bridging the gap between non-engineers (managers, producers, sales personnel, designers, etc.) and the development現場.

  • You want to vaguely understand technical terms to better communicate with clients.
  • You want to quickly grasp the latest developments to reduce development costs or advance projects smoothly.
  • You want to know candidate technologies to adopt next, tailored to your company's situation.
